5 out of 5 stars accurate. factual. speaks the heart of a Jewish-believer   June 30, 1999

Stan Telchin's book is a bulls-eye. A very accurate historical approach embracing a Judeo-Christian timeline. As a Messianic Jew, Stan uncovers the great deception that has blinded the Jew for centuries. His ability to unveil the lies and inaccuracies most Jews live unknowingly....a great book to give an unsaved Jewish friend...no need to say anything, just give the book...Stan and God will do the rest.

4 out of 5 stars A great place to begin understanding.   April 8, 1999

Mr. Telchin has written a terrific book. Abandoned has a short history of split between Jews and Christians - enough to get you started, if studying history is your thing. But the book is primarily about the things we Messianic Gentiles (another way of saying non-Jewish believers in Christ) need to know in order to approach our Jewish sisters and brothers. Jews have reason to fear Christians; many churches still teach that God has given up on His Chosen People and has transferred His blessing to the Church, despite the Promises of God in the Old Testament, despite the clear teaching of Paul in Romans, despite the Words of our Saviour! To lovingly breach the walls that have grown between us, we believers in Yahshua (the name of Jesus in Hebrew) need to understand the feelings and thoughts of Jews here in North America. Mr. Telchin's book documents the modern concerns of his people, and (most interestingly) his own struggles in finally believing Moses and the Prophets. Often heartbreaking, but necessary reading.

This book gives an excellent but brief summary of the Church's attitudes towards the Jews, the essentials of the Jewish faith and a challenge to Christians to share their faith with Jews. Since the author is a Jewish believer he shares many excellent insights that a non-Jew would not have.
