Very good - Would love to have all my confirmation students read this. It really stops you and makes you think about all the stuff you do automatically and the meaning behind it.

5 out of 5 stars Great Guide to the Mass   December 24, 2007

Even if you are a life long Catholic I am sure this book will be a great help in understanding every element of the Mass. It is written in clear concise language and full of useful information on the reasons why we celebrate the Mass the way we do, the history behind prayers, the liturgy etc. Would be a great gift for First Communion or adults converting and coming into full communion.

This is an easy to read but very informative book for the Catholic who wants to know the reasons for various aspects of mass. I bought this book because my fiancee wanted to know why we did or said particular things during mass and I didn't know the answer. Great help. I learned things I never learned in CCD.

4 out of 5 stars An easy to read eye opener for the joy of the Catholic Mass   November 2, 2007

I've been attending the Catholic Mass on and off for years, I love the piano, and lovely singing, it truly is - as someone once told me - the highest form of prayer for us Catholics. However, I didn't understand everything going on. This book is cut and dry, and so easy to read and helpful. It will help you to understand why we say certain prayers, what it means, where it came from. I truly have a better understanding and respect for the Catholic Mass, and after reading this wonderful book I will certainly get more out of the Mass. For all those Bible thumping christians out there who like to take cracks at the Catholics, guess what?: We really don't have many differences between us. Sorry to break the news to you. A lot of the Catholic prayers and songs, etc., do stem from the Bible. Read this book, it will do wonders in your walk with the Lord, and especially your prayer life.
