Excellent tutorial June 30, 2006 23 out of 24 found this review helpful
The author of this book is an amazing healer. There are not many like her in this world and her book is on my number one list of recommendations for anyone who wants to learn energetic healing. I use her techniques in my healing classes. I have a great respect for her work even though I have never met her! I wouldn't recommend this to anyone new to energetic healing. I feel a new student should study the chakras first, perhaps some hands on healing methods, such as quantum touch, before reading this book as it can get a bit technical for the beginner, however, once the student has an understanding of the aura and chakras and how to use them to heal, this book will take the practitioner to new heights of healing they couldn't get any other way. It may be the only method out there that shows you the psychological energy patterns of an individual. Also, it can be referenced time and time again.
Deepen your self-knowledge June 25, 2006 11 out of 12 found this review helpful
I first read this book many years ago and it is one of the few I keep in my library. It has excellent information about energy healing. I especially learned a lot from the descriptions and information about the personality types. Most books address types in terms of psychology only, but this book adds the spiritual and energetic dimensions. Hands of Light greatly deepened my self-knowledge and helped me understand others better as well. An important book for spiritual awareness.
heady stuff February 17, 2006 25 out of 26 found this review helpful
This book is excellent, although a bit heady. It seems to be aimed at professional healers. Too tough to read as a lay person. Some sections were applicable. However, "Light Emerging" by the same author seems more digestable to the average user.
Learning to be a Healer April 12, 2005 47 out of 52 found this review helpful
I am a devote Christian and I am frustrated of how the church, and I mean born-again denominational churches, treat "hands-on" healing as just like a "miracle". This book taught me that it is not just a "miracle". WE ARE A MIRACLE OURSELVES LIVING ON A MIRACULOUS BLOB OF ENRGY CALLED EARTH. WE ARE CAPABLE OF HEALING OURSELVES BECAuSE GOD IS IN US-EACH AND EVERY ONE OF US-HE IS IN US. HE CREATED A REAL UNIVERSE-MATTER AND ENERGY-INTACT and Barbara Brennan-a human form of love and compassion, a scientist and a healer-is an instrument of God who is being used to explain this (not so called) 'mysteries' of our cosmos thru this book. I am learning from her book and I am delighted to be enlightened. I can tell all here that COMPASSION AND LOVE WORKS. I can tell you that I can see auras and chakras now after reading her book but I sill have to deal some issues with myself that when I know it has been dealt with, I know I will be able to heal myself and heal others. You too can...
Barbara rocks January 27, 2005 22 out of 23 found this review helpful
I really like some of the information she has in this book. It is very well organized and comprehensive, even if she does contradict herself a time or two. Some of the illustrations are real good. I work with people energetically and some of my experiences paralell hers. I did check out Energetic Anatomy by Mark rich and his book is pretty good, too. He writes about some things Barbara has left out though his book is shorter. Even if you don't believe everything she has in there it is still well written. Maybe it will make the MD's open their minds. (doubtful)
