A great Catholic Book May 21, 1999 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
Mr. Noonan is a great writer. His beautiful book shows the Church protocol, the Papal Orders and the ceremonial life in the Church. It is a delicious book with colorful pictures and a deep information from an authority in this special matter. This book is a fine gift for God, the Papacy and the catholics. Alonso Jaramillo, Noble a Fuero de Espana.
A "must have" for any Student of Catholic Theology October 31, 1998 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
This is a thoroughly researched compendium of the Ceremonial Life and Protocol of the Catholic Church. It illustrates with precision, the purpose behind the action and brings to light the richness found within the Churches "external life". Any laity or cleric studying Theology will find this a useful authoritative reference text for their library. It should be required reading for all men studying for the Catholic Sacramental Priesthood. It would also serve as an excellent book for Parish Libraries, Parish Liturgists and Adult Study Groups. This author received the Papal skull-cap after completing this work. Is this not a positive Review? George F. Zerucha, PA-C Student IRPS Graduate Program / Univ of Dallas
Excellent Gift for your Pastor/Bishop/Sister/Brother June 12, 1998 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I just became a catholic and bought two copies of this book. First was presented to Sister who taught me in RICA. Father at the Parish would not put it down. So I bought him a copy. You will trully enjoy. Peace be with you.
A thorough and practical guide of Catholic protocol. May 4, 1998 "As a liturgist and master of ceromonies for more than 8 years, I have found this book to be the easy-to-use, complete guide for the answer to the common question of `why?,` asked by so many of the Catholic faithful. This book provides a history, current guidelines, photographs/sketches, and examples for almost every aspect of Roman Catholic ceremony and protocol. From dinner party seating arrangements, to vestments and clerical garb, to the and burial of prelates to the Papal household: this book has it all. "I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is remotely interested in Holy Mother, the Church. If nothing else, the photographs are worth the cost of the book alone. For me, it is a cherished book in my library; although, it is rarely on the shelf -- most often on my desk." Rudy Reyes, Jr., Ss. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, Diocese of Corpus Christi, USA 4 May 1998, Blessed Marie-Leonie Paradis, religious Present Assignment: St. Mary's University, Archdiocese of San Antonio, USA
