5 out of 5 stars A worthwhile tool for teaching young girls about purity   October 28, 2007

The Princess and the Kiss is a lovely story. It is very useful in introducing sex education to pre-teen girls (10-13 year olds). I recommend it wholeheartedly. It should be read with an adult followed by a discussion. The illustrations are nice and it is beautifully written. You will not be disappointed with this purchase.

This was a cute book but a bit odd....it was hard to explain why the "kiss" looked like the sun and does that mean I can't kiss mommy and daddy and g-ma and g-pa?...so I had to ad lib a bit...

5 out of 5 stars A wonderful book for Protestants and Catholics alike   August 27, 2007

As an EXTREMELY picky traditional Catholic homeschooler, I usually have a difficult time finding books that are in sync with keeping our children pure and innocent yet also preparing them for the world. This book does both. Even thought the book is not Catholic, it is very Christian and has nothing contrary to the Catholic faith in my opinion. Quite the contrary, it backs up exactly what I want to teach my daughter, and in a beautiful, innocent, and captivating way. The illustrations are absolutely beautiful and my 4 year old daughter just LOVED the book. The two younger toddler boys happened to like them alot as well, even if they don't understand the finer details! The wonderful thing about this book is that it goes the "extra mile". Not only does it teach that in order to keep your purity you must keep your virginity, but it also (rightly) teaches that there's alot more to purity than just not going that "last step", but that saving your "kiss" is an honorable thing also to be treasured. Highly recommend!

This is a great Catholic book on purity! I would definately recommend it! I would also recommend the boys' book: "The Squire and the Scroll", also by Jennie Bishop. Both should be on every christain family's book shelf!

Very good way to lead to many discussion on purity and why to wait until marriage. Nice illustrations too! I highly recommend. In fact, I just ordered copies to hand out as the goody bag treat at my daughter's princess party. She liked the book so much that she requested we hand them out.
