5 out of 5 stars Insightful & honest   June 25, 2008
I could definately identify with Miller. I appreciated his brutal honesty with respect to Christianity, especially fundamentalism.

4 out of 5 stars Lovely Read   June 18, 2008

This book is a wonderful book to read. It is the refreshing story of Donald Miller's personal faith: it is real and unadorned with the frills one usually sees in Christian personal interpretation. Be aware that the book is NOT personal interpreation as much as it is the story of Donald Miller's thoughts. It is certianly not an organized exposition on the tenets of Christian faith as much as it is the meandering thoughts and actions of one Christian. I love Miller's transparency and insight. The book causes the reader to reevaluate the things that they believe about Christianity: why do they believe them? What do they think now that they have seen the world through Miller's eyes? I recommend the book particularly to young adult Christians, but really everyone, even non-Christians, can enjoy the work.

5 out of 5 stars Short and Sweet   June 3, 2008
Wonderful explanation of what people mean when they say 'cookie cutter Christians' although, the author never uses this term. I found the first chapter difficult to read, kind of rambly, but very intriging.

The book is about his journey to find his place in religion his true, unique way, not the way that others told him to be, but the way he wanted. Not to say that he invented his own way or that he didn't/doesn't follow the Bible (which is what fundamentalists will have you believe). He wants to be GENUINE. He wants everyone to be.

LOVE. Truly love everyone, even SINNERS! Let the preaching come later. There is a story in the Bible about preparing the soil....

5 out of 5 stars an important book   May 30, 2008

this is an important book to read. Donald Miller is a bit too liberal for me, but I like this book nevertheless. This book has helped many nonchristians set aside stereotypes and bad feelings about Christianity, and I would recommend it to everyone.

1 out of 5 stars I'm not sure who quailifed this book as in Excellent Shape??????   May 28, 2008

This book was described as in Excellent condition. Pages were torn, there was a hole that started in the front cover of the book and punched thru the first 4 chapters. The entire book had been folded and wrinkled at some point. The words are all readable, however I do not feel it was priced for Excellent condition. I will not order from this company again.
