Product Description
HEBREWS. Jewish Christians are under fire from their nonChristian kinsmen for neglecting the Jewish traditions. Faced with hostility, the loss of jobs, and worse, many of them are tempted to hide their faith in Christ and revert back to the Jewish customs. Then a trusted mentor reminds them in a strong, clear letter that Christ is far superior to anything Judaism offers.

The letter to the Hebrews reigns unchallenged as the New Testament's finest commentary on the relationship between Christ and the Old Testament. Its stirring message will challenge you to live wholeheartedly for Him in every situation.

LIFECHANGE Series. Christians have a lifelong goal- to become like Christ. This involves change, and change isn't always easy. But the more you know of God's purposes for you, the more you can experience His joy and participate in His plan.

The LIFECHANGE Series of Bible studies on books of the Bible can help you grow in Christlikeness through a life-changing encounter with God's Word. You'll benefit in these important ways: 1) You'll gain a firm understanding of the book-its historical context, purpose, structure, and meaning; 2) You'll apply its powerful, relevant wisdom to needs and issues you are currently working through; and 3) You'll acquire personal study skills and a thirst to return to the book on your own-so you can keep going deeper into its life-transforming truths.

4 out of 5 stars Hebrews Commentary   November 11, 2008
Good supplement to my study on Hebrews. Not a detailed study but good thoughts.

5 out of 5 stars A Masterpiece of Biblical Exposition and Scholarship   January 25, 2006

Ray Stedman spent most of his life doing expository preaching to church congregations. He was, however a very solid scholar who read and studied widely --and remembered everything he read. This commentary, written near the end of his life, is meaty and tightly packed--worthy of careful study one page at a time. What emerges is a picture of Hebrews as an invitation to an exciting New Covenant adventure follwing Jesus our Trailblazer out of this world towards the same heavenly city Abraham foresaw. I often use Ray's book in teaching Hebrews to college students who right away catch the vision of the open-ended adventure we have been given under the New Covenant. Ray is never obscure, never stuffy never "merely academic."
