5 out of 5 stars A TWO EDGED SWORD   December 1, 2008
This Book is an amazing compilation of powerful prayers that satan does not want you to know about, instead of being scattered throughout the Bible they are compiled in a relative manner. I came under heavy attack until I finally brought my self to read through this book which i did out LOUD and I haven't felt this much peace since the beginning of my walk. If you're more than just a "feel good" Christian you are warring against powers and principalities. This book is a must have, these prayers have the power to cast out evil and loose the bonds of demonic oppression by the name and blood of Jesus Christ.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent Book, a must have for every christian home!   October 24, 2008
Excellent! This is a must have book in every christian home. Reading this book has helped me to realize that there are things so much deeper than we even realize in the demon world that opress us every day! This book will help you to search the scripture for more understanding and help you to go into battle...Excellent.
You will not waste your money and you will not be able to put this book down until you read it cover to cover.

2 out of 5 stars Talismanic Nonsense   October 15, 2008

I picked this up at a bookstore and bought it on impulse. I'll be honest and say I wasn't expecting much from this book, and perhaps that's why I didn't get much out of it, but I think the real reason is that it is little more than a list of incantations peppered with the name Jesus to make it palatable to the average Christian.

The author provides little in the way of explanation - there is a foreword, an introduction by the author, and a chapter introduction. In total, these amount to 20 pages (charitably considering half-filled pages of text as full pages) of prose. The rest of the 115 page book consists of one-sentence incantations organized by their general purpose, occasionally followed by a Biblical reference.

There are five major sections each carrying their own clusters of subsections. These subsections range from the fairly ordinary - such as "Confessions," "Prayers for Blessing and Favor," "Prayers for Divine Safety and Protection," and "Prayers for Souls," - to the utterly bizarre - "Prayers to Overcome Satanic and Demonic Conspiracies," "Dealing with Spirit Birds," "Disanulling Ungodly Covenants," and "Prayers Against Demonic Horseman."

This book seems mainly to play on the fantasy of spiritual warfare, allowing one to cast oneself as a true warrior for God, boldly invoking these prayers like lightning bolts to smash evil. Frankly, that's not the Christianity I grew up with, and it seems to me to bear greater resemblance to animism and paganism than to any Christianity with which I am familiar.

If you want to grow your relationship with Christ, then I advise you to spend your money on some book that will provide you with a fruitful study of Scripture. Or better yet, go out into the world and act as Christ would, helping the needy, visiting the friendless. This book is full of worthless spellcraft crudely disguised, and will not draw you closer to God.

5 out of 5 stars Wait - what if John Eckhardt is really a demon?   October 13, 2008

And his prayers to God are really prayers to Satan? How will I know? I'm confused. I'm going to read them backwards just in case. I'm also going to burn my Sgt Pepper album.

Prayers That Rout Demons

Since the day I discoved this powerful tool that has been released to the body of christ, My prayers have never been the same, in fact our church are making full use of it ... I have also been purchasing this book and making it an easy access to the body of Christ.I believe that every son of God "must" have a copy of this book. when you pray you know that God hears because it His very words you are praying back to Him.
God bless Apostle John Eckhardt.
