Product Description
Although saying bedtime prayers is a habit in the Bear household, Brother Bear isn?t sure why they do it. But when he sees a friend on his baseball team praying at the game, he decides to try it himself. Things don?t work out as he expects though, and Brother Bear learns that although prayers are always answered, they aren?t always answered as we expect.

Customer Reviews:

3 out of 5 stars Just okay   October 6, 2008
Compared to other Berenstain bears books, the new ones by Mike Berenstain have a lot of words and can get a little boring and mundane. They also don't start with the clever little rhyme like his parents did. They still teach the lesson but it's a little bit over kill and if you are reading these at bedtime (like myself) suddenly your reading time is quite a bit longer, so instead of 2 books you may only have time for 1.

5 out of 5 stars A Helpful Book   October 3, 2008
This story about prayer is a positive and interesting look at the importance and meaning of prayer in everyday life. It deals with the common practice of praying as part of youth sports activities and gives a thoughtful take on this issue. It will be appreciated by parents and children alike.

2 out of 5 stars Nice but wordy! Not as prayerful as I had expected.   October 1, 2008
I bought this looking for good bedtime stories for my son. I might not have bought it had I looked at it in a store. The pictures are wonderfully familiar but the story lacked umph! Borrow it from the library if you must!

A better productThe Jesus Storybook Bible: Every Story Whispers His Name

Now this is a wonderful read and there are plenty of stories!
