Product Description
In November 1929, Knopf published its "illustrated edition" of *Death Comes for the Archbishop* with beautiful black and white wood block drawings by Harold Von Schmidt. The typeset of this edition was particularly lovely -- namely "Poliphilus," originating in a roman type cut by Francesco da Bologna (late 15th C). This item is the sixth printing, June 1942, in the midst of the Second World War.
