Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Good introduction, Very thorough   July 7, 2005
I have read roughly one third of the book and I think it is pretty good. It is very thorough - it really explains everything in details so anybody would be able to understand it. I would recommend this book to everybody who are trying to learn LabVIEW for the first time and also to people with a little experience in LabVIEW who would like to become even better.

4 out of 5 stars Good for the beginner   May 27, 2005
I found this book to be pretty comprehensive in getting me up and running in LabView. The book covers just about every aspect of labview, but don't expect to become an expert after reading it. It doesn't go into great detail of say how to use arrays or how to manage data. It is very easy to follow and the examples are all very good as well. It also gives you solved files of all the VI's you have to set upyourself.
My one big gripe about the book is that the figures that show you what your VI should look like are NEVER on the same page where they are mentioned. I got real annoyed having to flip back and fourth through the pages in each practice VI.
All in all I would recommend this book for the beginner who wants to get a clearly explained overview of LabView. Don't expect to be an expert, but you can plan on being proficient in the program when you are through.

5 out of 5 stars Good Book - Does it have the CDs?   March 28, 2004

I use this book to teach a college level course to students who have no programming experience. All the examples are available for down load from the site www.ni.com
It is good.
The ISBN LISTED # ISBN: 0131239260
is the book with the program CDs and book in a box.
Be careful with the used books and make sure you
get the one with the CDs containing the program itself.
