Product Description
The thrilling follow-up to Sebastian.

The Eater of the World continues to spread its dark influence across the realm of Ephemera, corrupting people's souls with doubts and fears. Only Glorianna Belladonna possesses the ability to thwart the Eater's plans. But she has been branded a rogue, and must stand alone against the encroaching entity.

But she is not alone. In dreams, a call has traveled throughout Ephemera-"Heart's hope lies within Belladonna"-and reached Michael, a man with mysterious powers of his own. It awakens a fierce hunger within him to find the dark-haired sorceress he's dreamt of-a beautiful woman named Belladonna. Together, they may be Ephemera's only hope.

3 out of 5 stars I wanted to like it more   October 1, 2008
I've read every single Anne Bishop book and I've enjoyed the Black Jewels trilogy, along with most of the Tir Alain series. However, this series has left me wanting. I read Sebastian and it was ok and I was intrigued by Belladonna's character. She seemed very mysterious and strong. I eagerly purchased this book and was disappointed. I wanted to like it a lot but it was so bland. I was very surprised because most of Bishop's characters are pretty interesting. I didn't feel very convinced by the relationship/love between Belladonna and Michael. I wanted Michael to be a stronger character, one worthy of being able to handle Belladonna's rogue status. I was a bit confused by the feelings she had with her encounter with Nathan. Most of the characters in this book were underdeveloped. I was waiting for this "great story" from Michael and when it came, it was anti-climatic. I was like, huh? So much build up for nothing.

If Bishop plans to write a third book in this series, I hope she adds more oomph into her characters.

5 out of 5 stars I cant wait for the next book   May 21, 2008
Anne Bishop's new series is as compelling if not better then her Black Jewels Series which is incredible. I just finished reading Belladonna yesterday and i have to admit for the softhearted it really gets to you. She realty knows how to bring fantasy to reality and have you gripping the pages for the next page.

fantastic author. epic reading.

4 out of 5 stars Interesting sequel to Sebastion   May 20, 2008
I really liked that this book took place directly after Sebastion, yet was carried on by the main perspective of Belladonna. It added more to the story that I think would have been lost had it been continued mainly by Sebastion. There were new characters brought in which, in my opinion, balanced the fact that the eater of the world battle didn't have as much of a climax as I had hoped for. It was still a good read, and very interesting to know more about the story behind the world splitting without everyone's knowledge.

1 out of 5 stars HORRIBLE   April 29, 2008

horrible, horrible, horrible.
I am actually a little shocked that something this crappy was PUBLISHED. I feel ill-used by it, since it wasted several hours of my life. It's confusing and a million things are going on at once- but are never resolved. Anne Bishop gave no real clues "Warrior of Light?? So what?" as to what story Michael might be holding back or why we should even CARE and there was absolutely no climax to this book at all. I never really felt like I knew the characters at all... One day Michael just decides to tell the story and Glorianna and Michael, for some odd reason completely unobvious to me, they say, "It's TIME." Why the hell is it time?? The Dark thing is staying away from YOUR LANDSCAPE, what's the great urgency. No real central problem (with an urgency, anyway) that needs to be solved. someone should have shredded this book and made Anne Bishop START OVER. The ideas in it are pretty good, but Anne Bishop can't develop them into a meaningful plot.

DON'T WASTE HOURS OF YOUR LIFE!
